Tracy Deonn’s Oathbound Book Tour

I was so incredibly lucky to see one of my favorite current authors Tracy Deonn discuss her third book in the Legendborn cycle, Oathbound, at Barnes & Noble a few weekends ago. I had set my alarm to get these tickets knowing Tracy’s event would sell out. And it did! Her whole tour sold out! Having my tickets secured, I felt so happy that people loved this series and were planning to come in droves to support it.

Legendborn (book 1) came out in 2020 and knocked my socks off. It honestly blew my mind. The story follows a young girl Bree right after the devastating death of her mother. In the following months, Bree is accepted into an early college program at NCU with her best friend Alice. The series is based on the King Arthur and the Round Table legend. But at the same time, it is so much more. It covers colorism, heritage, grief, the burden of ancestral pain and so much LOVE. The story is bolstered by an incredible cast of characters and BREE….Bree is a heroine we all need. One that struggles and is imperfect but we love her because she always TRIES.

Tracy’s discussion was moderated by Olivie Blake another one of my favorite authors! They were so funny and covered a lot of topics such as anime, fanfic, early writing stories and the extra administrative tasks authors don’t expect to have to do. Then we were able to talk to the authors (in my case babble indistinct compliments) and get our books signed. I’m so glad Oathbound is finally out and I can’t wait to start reading!
